Stamping Plate Collection and Storage

Standard

Hello everyone! Today I have a bit of a different post for you. I now have a decent system for storing my stamping plates, so I want to show it off. Granted, I haven’t done anything particularly unique, in fact I’ll admit I saw the idea in Facebook groups/on YouTube and expanded on it.

I also don’t have that many plates yet, but I hope for that to change. I’m slowly working on building my plate collection now that I have an address to ship plates to.

And without further adieu, here we go!

War of the Whites

Standard

080213-01

It’s finally here! My promised War of the Whites post. I covered all ten of my fingers in any polish I’ve ever used as a “go to white” (as well as some new, albeit tiny, faces).

Now, most of these bottles are at the halfway mark or slightly below that, so for the most part I did thin them out before applying because in my experience, white nail polish turns to the consistency of correction fluid when it gets low like that. (In fact, this is part of the reason I own so many, I don’t think to thin the bottles out so I just give up and buy a new bottle. I always switch up brands at this point too.) Also, with the exception of two (one is a pseudo “salon” brand at $8 – though I bought it at a discount store in a two pack, one is a discount store brand bought in a seven pack), my full size bottles are all drugstore brands, and the “cheap” brands, and I paid $1 for every single one, lol. This is because I go through whites so fast, I don’t want to rely on, say OPI Alpine Snow or Zoya Purity and have to shell out $8-$9 every time I need a reup.

Alright, let’s go!

May (and June) Haul

Standard

070613-1-01

Hey guys! I’ve got a huge haul post for you guys today! This is all the nail stuff I bought in May (because I forgot to do a post last month) and June, and it’s a lot. A lot more than I thought it was. Oops.

So, if you’re on a slower connection, I do apologize because this is super pic heavy.

Also, I’m going to try to get into the habit of making these monthly, so the next one isn’t quite so big. Unless I go a little crazy.

Black & White Challenge Day 2: White on Black

Standard

IMAG0368

Welcome back to the Black & White Challenge! Today’s challenge was to do white on black.

I started with two coats of Kleancolor Black, then stamped on the design using Fing’rs Stamping Polish in white and Fing’rs plate B41. Topped with NYC Extra Shiny Top Coat.

This also counts as my Try it on Tuesday post, with the stamping polish being an untried.

I like this look. I like that my stamping is getting better, I only messed up on my middle finger.

Tomorrow is Splatter from the Abstract Challenge, then I get to do black with some color Friday.

Stash Sunday: Blacks and Whites

Standard

I figured that since today is the first day of the Black & White Challenge for me, it would be appropriate that for my first Stash Sunday post, I do my black and white polishes.

When I was digging out my blacks and whites for the photos, I realized I don’t have nearly enough, lol! Must remedy this one.

Blacks, from left to right: Shades of the Season Black, Sally Hansen Ink Splatter (crackle polish), !0 Lacquer The Little Black Dress, Piggy Polish Right Black At Ya!, Kleancolor Black (current go to black), Milani Black Sketch, Color Club Art Club Black.

Whites, from left to right: Shades of the Season White, Sally Hansen Hard to Get (current go to white), NYC Little Italy, Piggy Polish Frosty, Color Club French Tip, Milani White Canvas, Color Club Art Club White, Wet N Wild French White Crème, Flirt Stamping Polish White.

I noticed I have a few more whites than I do blacks, but I think that that’s because I tend to buy sets that come with a single white polish (the Color Club and both the mini whites came from such sets).

So, yeah, there you have it. My blacks and whites, and my first Stash Sunday. My Black & White Challenge post is coming up as well.
